Built for the 1972 Summer Olympic Games, the Olympiapark, with its many shrubs, trees, hills, and water features, is a magnet for both locals and tourists from all over the world. Today, it has established itself as the location for major sports events.
In 2010 the park will set another milestone and add a further name to its long list of famous guests – the Red Bull Crashed Ice World Championship is to touch down on German soil for the first time! An expected 30,000 spectators and 100 athletes racing through razor-sharp turns will create an ice-melting atmosphere in the mid-January cold of Munich.
